Throughout the 1920's and 1930's along the east Suffolk coast and close to Lowestoft, the most easterly town in the UK once hosted the glory days of motorcycle speedway. These dirt tracks situated at Benacre, Kessingland, Pakefield, Normanston Drive, Crown Meadow, Gunton Hall & Bradwell attracted both local, and star riders from far and wide across England including Australian and Canadian riders.
Speed Trials were held at Lowestoft North Denes seawall and attracted up to 20,000 spectators and enthusiasts including award winner E.C.E. Barry Baragwanath
